Meet Dr. Alexander Gruber

Bay Eye Center is excited to welcome Dr. Alexander Gruber as our newest eye doctor. Alexander Gruber, OD is a compassionate optometrist who believes great eye care starts with listening. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry, where he developed a strong foundation in comprehensive eye exams, medical eye care, and patient education.

Dr. Gruber has a special interest in dry eye disease and ocular surface conditions, helping patients find relief through modern diagnostic technology and personalized treatment plans. He takes pride in explaining eye conditions in a clear, approachable way so patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their care.

Prior to pursuing optometry, Dr. Gruber attended Elon University, where he majored in Religious Studies with a minor in Biology. Before beginning optometry school, he worked as a barista in Boston, an experience that shaped his appreciation for connection, community, and a great cup of coffee. He also sang a cappella in college, reflecting his lifelong love of music.



Originally from New England, Dr. Gruber is excited to be practicing at Bay Eye Center and caring for patients in his local community. Outside of the office, he is an avid skier and fisherman, enjoys exploring new coffee shops, and loves spending time with his wife Leah, and their dog and two cats.
