Meet Dr. Mitz Qutb

Known to his patients simply as Dr. Mitz, Dr. Qutb earned his Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Biology, concentrating in Biomedical Sciences, from Bridgewater State University, where he also minored in Chemistry. He began his career as a medical technologist in clinical laboratory sciences, but his passion for patient connection and hands-on care inspired him to pursue optometry.

Dr. Mitz earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University in Worcester, MA. His clinical training included ocular disease management at the Western New York VA Medical Center in Batavia, NY, and primary eye care rotations in private practices across Texas and Rhode Island. Throughout his education, he developed a strong interest in caring for patients with developmental disabilities, binocular vision disorders, and low vision or visual impairment.

In 2024, Dr. Mitz received the Excellence in Low Vision Award from Eschenbach Optik, recognizing his commitment to supporting patients with vision loss. He remains active in community outreach through WalkFit Worcester, a local organization promoting advocacy and sighted-guide training for individuals with visual impairments and their allies.

Outside the exam room, Dr. Mitz is a passionate musician, vinyl record collector, and DJ/producer. A proud Worcester native, he also enjoys reading and exploring the biochemical effects of light—combining his love of science and art to deepen his understanding of how we see the world.
